Info about Burlington County College tax planning courses, registering in a technical degree program to develop job skills, and taking free practice tests online. Which college degrees will give you the best chances of finding employment after graduation? Some students select a major because it offers practical training that will be valuable in the workplace. Other students choose their major simply because they enjoy the subject material. Taking tax planning courses can give you an advantage in job recruiting after graduation. Business management depends on many accounting considerations, including taxation issues. Check with the tax planning department for degree requirements. The most popular college major is business administration, split evenly between men and women. On the other hand, men make up the vast majority of computer science and engineering majors. For women, the fields of education, English and humanities dominate the list.

The main challenge after earning your degree is to choose a career that you will enjoy, and can pursue for many years. By looking at professional resume layouts online, you can avoid the mistake that many new graduates make of over-preparing their resume. Conduct a thorough job search, and research company data in order to be successful in job interviews. Your job interviewer has one priority in mind, to select out a handful of the best-qualified applicants for the job. By focusing on job search resources to locate career opportunities, new graduates may be able to land high-paying jobs in computer programming, health care, and business fields.

Online Courses - MOOCs

College degree majors with high starting-salaries after graduation include physical sciences, business administration, and engineering. If you remain true to your career interests, not just going after salary, your overall job earnings will increase as you gain experience. However, if your focus is more on salary alone, there's a higher risk that you'll suffer early signs of burnout, and be forced to change careers later on.

Technical training programs are a low-cost alternative to attending a regular four-year college, and still you may earn good money as a highly-skilled, technical specialist. By taking some of your required degree courses online, you may be able to graduate earlier, thus saving money on tuition. If you're currently employed, you can take online courses in your spare time to advance your career. Massive Open Online Courses are known as MOOCs, utilizing cloud-based software, interactive platforms such as Blackboard, and mobile apps.

An online degree may be just as marketable as a college degree that was earned on campus. Udemy online learning is a new startup with backing from the founders of Groupon. Similarly, Khan Academy now offers over 4,000 micro-lectures served through YouTube. Coursera, a competing software platform, has millions of enrolled students from around the world. Recently, MIT announced that it's open courseware platform will be available to students and instructors at no cost.

Online Tests - Free Practice!

This section offers practice tests in a variety of academic subject areas. Each of the following multiple-choice tests has 10 questions to work on. No sign-up required, just straight to the test.

Business & Medical Job Listings

Although most jobs which pay six-figure salaries require a college degree, technical fields offer high salaries based more on ability than which school you graduated from. Students will impress future bosses more with an impressive portfolio than with an advanced degree, so practice your skills as a consultant for local companies. Candidates with prior industry experience are preferred by interviewers, so you resume must show a clear pattern of success over time, based on numeric results and personal achievements.

In order to become an RN (Registered Nurse), a bachelors degree in nursing is recommended. RN's command a greater salary, and are responsible for an enlarged scope of practice over LPNs and CNAs. Students will receive classroom instruction and clinical training in a hospital setting. A 4-year BSN program allows students to further specialize in the areas of pediatrics, geriatrics and mental health. After completing your nursing education, you must be licensed by the state in which you'll be practicing, given that state boards of nursing each have specific certification requirements.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is a bureau of the Department of the Treasury. In the 2015 fiscal year, the IRS processed 240 million tax returns and collected roughly $3.3 trillion in revenue, spending 35? for every $100 it collected. Income tax credits are available to help with tax planning. The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC or EIC) provides a subsidy for low-income, working families. The EITC is a refundable credit, which means that it can reduce your tax liability beyond zero and pay out the remaining amount as a tax refund. Because of this, people who aren?t normally required to file a tax return may want to do so in order to reap the benefits of the Earned Income Tax Credit.
